Yoga will still take place from 10am - 11 am not 2-3pm.

Black Storytelling Week comes to Weeksville on Saturday, Sept 13, 12-5 pm! Celebrate by preserving family history through zine-making, portraits, oral histories, yoga, and shopping Black-owned vendors while enjoying fresh produce from GrowNYC. Whether your family is chosen, adopted, or biological, this day is for you—come connect, create keepsakes, and carry your stories forward. Co-presented with NATAL as part of the first annual Black Storytelling Week.

Discover how contemporary African Diasporic composers are reshaping classical chamber music in this unique collaboration between Weeksville Heritage Center and Bronx Arts Ensemble. Featuring works by Jessie Montgomery, Daniel Bernard Roumain, Shelley Washington, and Rhiannon Giddens, the evening pairs a stunning performance with a thought-provoking panel, moderated by Weeksville’s President & CEO, Dr. Raymond Codrington, to explore the transformative power of African Diasporic music in the classical canon.
